Nowadays, many brides want to throw a boho chic wedding but aren’t sure where to start. Here are all of our tips for you!
OVERALL TIPS FOR THROWING A BOHO CHIC WEDDING
Here are some of our design tips for throwing a boho chic style wedding!
Earthy tones
The best inspiration for a boho wedding is Mother Nature herself! We would suggest staying away from neon and bright colors if you are looking to keep things boho and more on the natural side.
Some colors that we suggest are:
- Rust
- Cream
- Peach
- Tan
- Blush
- Olive
- Lavender
Natural decor
To have the ultimate boho wedding, you will definitely want to incorporate a lot of “natural” decor! Flowers and greenery will be huge for a boho wedding.
Don’t stop at flower crowns — add flowers into all elements of your wedding day! From your centerpieces to your wedding arch to your cake, they will elevate your wedding so much.
Keep things local
A huge element to a boho wedding is often to keep things local. This includes the vendor, food, and all of your vendors!
Try to find a local distillery/brewery, caterer, florist, etc. This will add a homegrown, local feel to your boho wedding.
TIPS FOR A BOHO CHIC WEDDING DRESS
Boho weddings are incredibly popular these days, so it really is not too difficult to find a boho wedding dress! Here are some of our tips on what to look for.
Flowy dress
An element that a lot of boho brides search for in a wedding dress is the flowiness. A flowy, a-line dress gives off a very romantic and whimsical vibe!
Mermaid and sheath gowns are also very popular among boho brides. Ruffles and bell sleeves are other elements to search for!

Lace is one element that most boho bride search for in their dress. It fits really well with a boho vibe while also giving you a very timeless look.
Eyelet lace will give you a lightweight, sweet look; Chantilly lace gives more of an upscale look; and Venice lace (similar to crochet or macrame) will also make a great choice for a boho bride.
Some light beading may fit will on a boho dress too, but be careful not to overdo it! You don’t want the gown to be full of glitz and glam and take away from your intended boho vibe.
Another element that we really love to see on a boho gown is floral patterns. It can break away from the traditional mold and give you more of a boho vibe. To break away from tradition even more, you can choose a dress that has some color in the floral pattern.
