Photos You Have To Have On Your Wedding Day

by | Nov 28, 2019

Wedding days have tons of lead up. You spend a year planning this day (at least!) and then its gone in a flash. Thats why its so important to have a wonderful wedding photographer on hand to capture all those must-have wedding photos, from the expected (were talking formal portraits, that big kiss) to the unexpected reception moments that even with years of planning, youll never see coming. We love to help our brides wherever we can, which is why were sharing what we consider the must have wedding photos so that you can remember every precious moment of your big day! All photos for this weeks blog post have been graciously provided by Anne Casey Photography. Check her out; shes a spectacular wedding photographer that weve worked with closely over the years!

Getting Ready

These moments before the wedding are so special! Theyre often the calmest moments, even though when theyre happening, everybody is definitely full of anticipation Some must-have wedding photos from this part of the day? You need at least a few shots of you and your girls getting ready! And then pictures of you of course, photos of you getting your bridal hair and makeup done and then putting on your wedding dress. This is also the time to catch all the little details of your gown, like your shoes, jewelry, and veil. Take advantage of this relatively quiet time to get shots between you and your family – maybe a shot like the one above where you have someone special help you do up your dress!

Ceremony

Here we have the reason that everyone is here! This is definitely the main event and so getting photos here is definitely important. Your wedding photographer can get a head-start before you even get there by taking photos of the venue, both inside and out. Then, as people start arriving, photos of the groom and his best man at the altar. After that is you, of course! Some of the most traditional wedding photos are of the bridal party and parents walking down the aisle, the father of the bride giving the bride away and the bride and groom during the vow exchange. Of course, what is the most traditional and important wedding photo of all? That kiss! And just as quickly, youll be walking down the aisle as newlyweds.

Reception

The party part of the wedding day! After the more structured ceremony, the reception is where guests can really cut loose, you can celebrate your brand new marriage, and of course everybody eats some fantastic food. There are tons of details for your wedding photos to capture here, like the escort card table, the cake table, the band or DJ jamming out, and all your lovely decorations. Before you and your spouse arrive, you can get candid wedding photos of the cocktail hour. Definitely, youll want pictures of the bride and groom entrance. Another big part of the reception is your first dance- cue the awwwws! Lets not forget the other family dances that are so special for everyone. During dinner, capture snaps of the toasts and then after, the cake cutting. If youre throwing your bouquet or garter, its always fun to see those candid shots! Finally, if youre planning a special exit, were sure youll want photos of that too! We love a good sparkler exit, personally.
